I want to lose 5 pounds? How long will it take (healthy) and tips?

I’m not unhappy with my body, but I’m not completely happy with it either. I feel like if I just 5 pounds of my little extra baby fat and tone up my tummy I will have the body I’ve always wanted.

How can I lose five pounds (meal plans/exercise, etc.) and how long will it take in a healthy way? Also, I currently play basketball so restricting calories is not a good idea for me, but I don’t know how I can lose weight without doing that.

  1. Just by losing 5 pounds won't give you the body you want or looking for. You just have to work out to gain more muscle and lose the fat. Eat healthier and don't eat any fast foods.

  3. Weight loss is determined by simple calories in versus calories out. Your body needs a minimum number of calories per day to function, this is your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). What he should have said was the amount of calories consumed per day, minus your BMR (which for an average 160lbs male could be around 1700-1900) minus the amount of calories lost due to exercise = weight loss (or gain)
