Have You Ever Wondered How to Gain Energy before Working Out?

What can I eat to gain more energy before working out?

I undergo an intense workout every day of the week and do not have enough energy to undergo them, which in my coach’s eyes, is unacceptable. Besides adequate sleep, what can I do/eat to gain energy? (not including fats and sugars, false energy products, etc)

Bananas are my fave, but really any kind of fresh fruit and nuts

  1. I hate to advertise for any "energy company" but when I'm assed out before a workout, I eat a GU cuppicinno with caffine. Works well for me.

  2. CARBS. Best bet is to read up on "Complex Carbs", they give you a small boost in energy through out the entire day.

    WATER. Drink lots of it our body's are highly composed of it and will give good energy boost.

  3. Pasta.
    Before big meets my XC team would have pasta parties.
    The straches and stuff in it give you energy

  4. Protein shake. Plus it's good for your muscles.

    Also, eat an apple. Apples perk you up more than coffee and are obviously healthier.
