I really want to lose 5 pounds in time for Nutcracker because my costume is a little tight. Is it possible? Also, will it be really noticeable? I don’t want people thinking I’m anorexic being a dance in all because we tend to have a reputation. Thanks!
Easy. This is what you can do (and KEEP doing): Stay away from ALL sugars and everything that contains starch and flour. Consume very little (preferably NO) bread, pasta, rice. Focus on green, leafy vegetables, meats, fish, green salads.
Drink plenty of water every day and NO sugary sodas, no fries, no candy and sweets! Eat until you are satiated – but only of the good stuff mentioned above, 3 meals a day. Don’t overeat. There’s no need to exercise but you can if you want and enjoy it.
Well as long as you don't become anorexic you shouldn't be worried. Yes it is possible to lose 5lbs in a week and a half. Go on a little healthier diet and work out to burn calories and fat. Try running a bit, do crucnhes, and pushups. All of this stuff should help you out but don't go anorexic or skip meals.

I know there will some people who will get mad about me telling you this. But I had a similar issue where I wanted to loose 5lbs in a week before. For a week straight all I did was drink water with crystal light packets at least 4-6 a day and had salads with little dressing. I the morning for breakfast I would have 1 THOMAS wheat english muffin in the morning w/ watermelon. No eating before bed!!

If you have excess weight, 5lbs. shouldn't be a problem to lose in that amount of time. The real issue is you want your costume to fit regardless of what your weight is. Cut out all the junk food and eat a balance diet. Drink plenty of water everyday and get plenty of exercise.

Yes, it is possible. It is possible to safely lose up to 2.5 lbs per week. Just keep a count of the calories that you consume, and make it a point to burn more than what you consume.
1lb = 3,500 calories. So to lose 5 lbs you need to burn at least 17,500 calories in addition to what you eat.
Sounds a bit daunting, but it is not. Honestly, if you do weight training you will lose dress sizes soon. Add more protein to your diet, exercise using the right mix of weights and cardio, and eat well. Have eggs, chicken, fruits such as apple (avoid banana, grapes, oranges, and juices), avoid soda and salty foods, and eat lots of vegetables. Avoid everything white – rice, sugar, and white bread, and you will be fine.
